  1. Doesn't seem like you have to be very effective to make honorable mention if Kyle Kalis is on the list. Hopefully he will improve greatly in coming years.

    1. Well, keep in mind that these are all freshmen, and there aren't a ton of freshmen blowing up the football landscape.

  2. Man, that's a who's-who of OL we missed out on in the 2012 class. Toss Garnett in there and that's all of em.

  3. Kalis' improvement over the last couple of games was pretty good. He was thrown into it, and none of the kids on the line did well this year: who lasted from game 1?

From NW on he started to look more like the 5* he was recruited at. Made a couple of very nice nasty blocks v OSU. I think he will be one of our better linemen next year, with Magnusson.

    1. Definitely looking forwards to the bowl and spring game for the development of these guys.

    2. Kalis did not play much against NW, and he was pretty darn bad against Iowa. The line overall played better against OSU, but OSU did not put much pressure on them.

  4. Surprised Jake Butt didn't get an honorable mention. Dude had a great year and I think he will be big part of the offense next year.

    1. Butt is going to be incredible, imo. Some very nice plays vs. OSU.
